Finalist Jill Coster van Voorhout van de UvA in de categorie Alpha/ Gamma bestrijdt misdrijven zoals mensenhandel door crimineel geld te vinden en volgen.

Jill Coster van Voorhout leidt het onderzoek in een publiek-privaat samenwerkingsverband met 4 banken, 5 wetenschappers en 9 publieke partijen naar hoe slachtoffers van misdrijven als mensenhandel in bankgegevens te detecteren en daarop het geld te volgen om het criminele netwerk, diens structuur en diens patronen te achterhalen. Met de door het onderzoek verkregen juiste mix van zoekstrategieën, transactiemonitoring en open bronnen-onderzoek lukt het beter om crimineel vermogen af te pakken, het (financieel) bewijs voor misdrijven rond te krijgen, de onderbouwing van schadevergoedingen voor slachtoffers te verbeteren en zelfs preventie van mensenhandel, witwassen en corruptiedelicten te realiseren.
